The use of Drones is becoming increasingly attractive
Drones will have an increasing presence in our everyday lives. Experts have long recognized their importance regarding military and police matters. However, the commercial use of drones will likely be key in the coming years. They are currently used to inspect power lines, fight forest fires or monitor crop fields. Tomorrow, they will enable us to deliver letters and goods in hard accessible areas. The use of drones for commercial purpose only will grow potentially. The falling cost of technology will provide the fuel to this market development. But an uncontrolled use of drones also has the potential to significantly affect privacy issues. And the use of airspace between drones and both military and civilian aircraft will obviously have to be regulated. To cite just one example, it is estimated that 200,000 drones already fly over France. And realizing that the malicious use of drones could pose major security risks, authorities may at least agree on the compulsory registration of all aircraft of these types.
