In high Summer, the British are still stuck in the Fog

And there is nothing to be happy about. Indeed, the unhealthy political atmosphere prevailing today in the UK might also affect the rest of the European continent. The PM Mrs May keeps saying "Brexit means Brexit". The reality is that nobody knows what Brexit actually means. More than 2 years have passed since the Referendum and we are still completely in the dark. What cannot be disputed is that it has been a huge waste of time and energy. Britain will leave the EU on March 29, 2019. If there is no deal it will be a "lose-lose" scenario for both parties. But let's be realistic: it is the UK which will suffer most. Britain could lose half a million jobs and nearly £50 billion in investment by 2030 (Re: Cambridge Econometrics). For its part, the EU will continue to benefit from the substantial size of its market but a slowing British economy will inevitably affect its overall business. And of course, the UK will have to renegociate a pile of international and bilateral agreements with foreign countries. It is a huge endeavour. Time is running out. The legitimacy of the vote in favour of the Brexit is not in question. However, and considering the urgency and gravity of the situation, the UK's Government flip-flops must stop now.
