What distinguishes Good and Bad Leaders in times of Crises

It's been almost a year since the health crisis started. That allows us to make a first point on the management of this crisis. We just want to briefly mention the actions undertaken by the world's leading leaders. In a few months tens of millions of people in more than 200 countries around the world have fallen sick from the viral illness. In the worst hit-regions hospitals are already stretched to capacity. Of course, we cannot deny that this is an unprecedented situation. Critics of the actions of the authorities or of the ruling party must take this into account. However, most informed observers without being accused of bias denounced the totally inadequate behavior of some key leaders. But it is also fair to criticize the behavior of some scientists and doctors who seem to have spent more time in the media than in their laboratories. This has resulted in increased public confusion and concern. And this at a time when public distrust of science in general and of vaccines in particular is already strong. In brief, the Chinese leader Xi Jinping -China is the country where the virus was first detected- intentionally sounded the alarm late. And for his part the US Pt Trump downplayed the severity of the sanitary threat in the most absurd way. In comparison, it can be said that many European leaders have lived up to the gravity of the situation.
