Psychological and Psychiatric problems related to the Covid-19 Crisis

Fear, stress and uncertainty are normal reactions developed by people in a context of a pandemic such as Covid-19. The palpable tension that exists today in many countries around the world does not mean that a majority of people suffer from a mental illness. The fact remains that the lack of physical contact with friends and colleagues obviously weighs heavily on the morale. Children and adults, students and employees and of course people in isolation are not equal in the face of the crisis, but they all suffer. The "best" example of this difficult situation is given to us by a generation of students deprived of their student life. Loneliness or feelings of loneliness have caused anxiety symptoms. And indeed, studies have shown that mental health has declined during the pandemic (Re.Santini). And of course there is a big difference if you live in a house with garden or if you live in a small flat. But the facts are there: in order to face the pandemic most governments in Europe and beyond have reintroduced many restrictions such as lockdowns and quarantines. In short, it is easy to predict that if the current health crisis should persist, healthcare demand will grow exponentially. Consequently, we must urgently strengthen our health care systems.
